A river seems a magic thing. A magic, moving, living part of the very earth itself. A short distance north of the Lowcountry is a jewel of a place steeped in history called The Rivertown. Situated along the banks of the Waccamaw River, Conway, South Carolina, is the county seat of Horry County. But, more importantly, it is home to The Spivey House, a gorgeous waterfront Greek Revival Bed & Breakfast surrounded by majestic oaks draped in Spanish Moss. This historic property in the center of town offers privacy and seclusion yet is walking distance to downtown attractions. Join us as we recap a stay at this grand southern home as tranquil as the still-moving, mysterious black water it overlooks. The remaining images are part of gallery showcasing more of the B&B's interior. Click or hover over each one for detailed descriptions. The Spivey House is located at 800 Fifth Avenue in Downtown Historic Conway, South Carolina. Proprietors Perry & Tina Arms go out of their way to provide an unforgettable experience. The Arms have great style and it is reflected in their choice of decor. The oar was one of my favorite design features.

English, you likely never knew because it hasn't been around for long. After speaking and getting to know the owners, I learned of their setbacks and delays in getting the B&B approved by town leadership. Now that it is operational everyone agrees it is an absolute treasure. You should definitely check it out on your next trip to Conway.
